To become an Edger means you become part of a community of Fringe creators that share support, resources and a drink or two after a show. Your production benefits from our kick-ass marketing, foot traffic and an exceptional venue. Historically, half the shows at our venue earn Standard Bank Ovation awards - yep, we're very proud of that!

The Process:

We will be selecting 8 productions to be part of our line up for the 2020 National Arts Festival. These include returning Edgers who did incredibly well this last year, new Edgers with great productions and fresh-as-it can-get-new-theatre-makers just out of the gate.

What we are looking for:

Professional and polished productions that excite and ignite from all over the country. Sets need to be compact or easily set up and taken down as turn around times at The Edge are FAST. One hander, two-hander, a cast of ten, drama, comedy, theatre, magic or something completely different – it all applies. Oh, and it doesn’t matter where in the country you are from!

What will we need from you?

All of your gees, a willingness to be part of a team and R4600. This money funds all that the Edge provides (tent, a food and alcohol vendor, heater, additional lighting, onsite Edge venue manager, security, a decent bathroom etc) as well as covering certain expenses such as shared show banners.
