Sillage

Sillage is about a mother and daughter who get to know each other by packing up their family home. Awarded the Standard Bank Gold Ovation Award at NAF in 2016 (only the fifth Gold Ovation to be given to a theatre production in the history of the festival), Sillage has also been nominated for a Fleur du Cap award for Best New South African Script.

Tracey Saunders, Weekend Special

“At the heart of this exceptional piece of work is a beautifully crafted script… Belknap is perfectly cast and wears the essence of a life lived and moments lost like another skin. […] Makin-Taylor has sunk in to this role with an easy effortlessness. Her mannerisms, her musings at her mother’s life and her misplaced sense of the lack of her own exceptionalism are conveyed with a poignancy that is visceral.”
